As reported on July 8 in the Washington Jewish Week Fatso Freundel has made a request to serve his sentence in a federal “satellite camp” in either New York or Florida. The ultimate decision is made by the DC Department of Corrections and the Federal Bureau of Prisons. These camps are basically “jail lite” for people who are well connected or deemed worthy of it, in other words well educated white people. A former inmate described his experience in the Washington Jewish Week here. His Royal Highness apparently believes himself to be too precious for DC jail. He should be treated the same as every other prisoner. The mere existence of these camps is an outrage and example of administrative malfeasance. Write to the directors of the DC Department of Corrections and Federal Bureau of Prisons to voice your opposition.
